Tickets on sale for wine tasting charity event
Tickets are on sale for Vino in the Valley, a wine tasting event from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Wigwam, 300 E. Wigwam Blvd.
The event will feature hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction. Proceeds from the event will help expand radiology services for the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Specialty and Urgent Care Center in Avondale.
Tickets are $75 per person.

ADOT seeks public input on 511 website
The Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) wants the public to assist with the redesign of the 511 Traveler Information System website by completing a brief online survey.
The system is designed to provide accurate information for drivers and travelers by providing data on crashes, construction-related restrictions, weather and other events that impact mobility around Arizona.
ADOT hopes to redesign the website so it will meet the expectations and needs of travelers around the state. It is the first major revision planned for the website since 2010.
Salvation Army looking for bell ringers
The Salvation Army Estrella Mountain Corps is accepting applications for seasonal bell ringers until Nov. 4.
Interested individuals must be 18 years or older. Applications are available from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 203 N. Dysart Road in Avondale. The office is closed from noon to 1 p.m. for lunch.

High school club trick or treating for donations
The Millennium High School Keyclub will be trick or treating for donations for UNICEF.
Club members will be dressed up in their costumes and trick or treating from 5 to 8 p.m. on Halloween in the Wigwam Creek, Litchfield Park and PebbleCreek communities.
Traffic restrictions announced
The city of Phoenix has announced that it will be installing a new sewer and manholes on McDowell Road from east of the northbound Loop 101 onramp to 99th Avenue.
The project will begin the week of Oct. 21 and last till March 2014. Work will occur between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The highest impact will take place today and Wednesday at the intersection of 99th Avenue and McDowell Road. Work will occur between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. There will be no left turns from McDowell Road to 99th Avenue and all westbound traffic will be restricted to one lane.
