 Ramiro Perez

Ramiro Perez, 53, of Phoenix, died Nov. 8, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Perez was born May 15, 1960, in Phoenix.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Perez; four daughters, Reyna, Bridgette, Erika and Brisi; six sons, Randy Jr., Rene Lalo, Jaime, Fito, Oscar and Pancho; and 40 grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place at 7 p.m. today at the Prince of Peace Church, 1501 E. Adams St., Phoenix. Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road, Avondale.

The Rev. Roberto Garcia will officiate.

Juan ValdezJuan Valdez

Juan Valdez, 79, of Tolleson died Nov. 9, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Valdez was born Oct. 19, 1934, in Guatemala City, Guatemala.

He is survived by his wife, Jovita M. Valdez; two daughters, Magaly Hernandez and Maria L. Valdez; two sons, Juan C. Valdez and Danny Valdez; two sisters, Dolores Olivia and Anna Matta; and seven grandchildren.

A viewing will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary recital at 7 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Mortuary, 9925 W. Thomas Road, Avondale. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Cross.

The Rev. Jim Cascio will officiate.

Erasmo RochaErasmo S. Rocha

Erasmo S. Rocha, 83, of Tolleson, died Nov. 9, 2013.

Mr. Rocha was born Nov. 25, 1929, in Glendale to Crispin and Martina Rocha.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mercy Rocha; five sons, Jesus, Erasmo Jr., Joseph, David and Andrew; two daughters, Maria Ruth Perez and Mary Ann Rocha; 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Advantage Crystal Rose Chapel, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 18 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 512 N. 93rd Ave., Tolleson. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road, Avondale.

Francis NoriegaFrancis Ortega Noriega

Francis Ortega Noriega, 69, of Avondale, died Nov. 13, 2013.

Mrs. Noriega was born April 23, 1944, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua.

She was a member of the West Valley Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by her husband, Agustin Noriega; three daughters, Guadalupe Elizondo, Maria Rascon and Melissa Gonzalez; three sons, Jimmy Sabala Jr., Martin Noriega and Vicente Noriega; one sister, Rosa Navarette; four brothers, Severo, Felix, Alberto and Domingo Ortega; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at West Valley Tabernacle Apostolic Church in Avondale.

Robert WheelockRobert E. Wheelock

Robert E. Wheelock, 58, of Buckeye, died Nov. 8, 2013, in Goodyear of liver cancer.

Mr. Wheelock was born Dec. 15, 1954, in Kewanee, Ill., to Allen and Geraldine Wheelock.

He worked at Caterpillar for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Wheelock; three daughters, Brooke White, Heather Tomlin and Wendy Burris; five sisters, Marilyn Coles, Carol Rennacker, Cathy Barker, Maureen Koehler and Michelle Doan; two brothers, Roger Wheelock and Mark Wheelock; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 20 at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear.

Sixto SamarripaSixto Samarripa Jr.

Sixto “Cisco” Samarripa Jr., 55, of Avondale, died Nov. 8, 2013, in Phoenix.

Mr. Samarripa was born Jan. 18, 1958, in Buckeye to Sixto and Julia Samarripa.

He was a salesman in the automobile industry.

He is survived by two sisters, Alice and Irma Samarripa; one brother, Ruben Samarripa; and one grandmother, Maria Mata.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by a Mass today at St. William Catholic Church, 11001 W. Third Street, Avondale

The Rev. Mario Garcia will officiate.

Kerry SalmonKerry Salmon

Kerry Salmon, 64, of Avondale died Nov. 6, 2013, from breast cancer.

Mrs. Salmon was born Oct. 3, 1949, in Madison, Wis., to James and Mary Fraser.

She worked as an administrative assistant at National Garden Life Insurance and then Growmark. She last worked at Family Dollar.

She is survived by her husband, James Tom Salmon and one son, Chris Hansen.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Morrine.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear.

Hazel MortonHazel Morton

Hazel Morton, 82, of Litchfield Park, died Nov. 11, 2013.

Mrs. Morton was born June 25, 1931, in Moorehead, Ky., to Thomas and Pearlie Brown.

She was a member of Truth Tabernacle and a volunteer with the Red Cross.

She is survived by her six daughters, Betty Pettersen, Linda Oldeen, Carolyn Smith, Diana Hughes, Virginia Lee and Edith Williams; two sons, Willie and Richard Morton; 22 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Morton; and one daughter, Vickie Doering.

A visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Thompson Funeral Chapel, 926 S. Litchfield Road, Goodyear. Another visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by a service at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Refuge Pentecostal Church, 301 E. Baseline Road, Buckeye. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at West Resthaven Park Cemetery, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale.

Dawn Knox

Dawn Knox, 69, of Phoenix and formerly of Goodyear, died Nov. 12, 2013, in Phoenix.

Mrs. Knox was born Oct. 30, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Mich., to Lloyd and Fran Messner.

She was a veteran of the Air Force.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Knox.

She is survived by three daughters, Paula Fontana, Teri Jackson and Leslie Hedrick; one son, Jeff Knox; one sister, Toots Nicolay; and five grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. today at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road in Phoenix.

Memorials may be sent to the COPD Foundation and the Girl Scouts.

Ronald DameRonald H. Dame

Ron Dame, 69, of Buckeye died Oct. 20, 2013, at his home from pulmonary fibrosis.

Mr. Dame was born May 27, 1944, in Uniontown, Pa.

He was a machinist for more than 40 years and a ham radio operator.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Doris; one son, Scott St. Pierre; two daughters, Michelle Thompson and Cathy Durant; two sisters, Judy Barton and Rita MacArthur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
