Basilio Aja, 84, of Buckeye died April 5, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Aja was born Oct. 27, 1929, in Seligman.
He was a livestock rancher.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Chrissie.
He is survive by his wife, Irene Echeverria Aja; three daughters, Melanie Lanford, Rachel Schindler and Gigette Webb; two sons, Basilio and Roy; two sisters, Julia Echeverria and Virginia Youngker; three brothers, Manuel, Robert and Benny; 15 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. April 14 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 13720 W. Thomas Road, Avondale.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 at the same location.
Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School.
Alfred Watson Cook
Alfred Watson Cook, 65, of Goodyear died April 1, 2014, in Ahwatukee from Parkinson’s disease.
Mr. Cook was born Nov. 18, 1948, in Tucson, to Orlan Cook and Ramona Watson Cook.
He retired from working at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station.
He is survived by one daughter, Roxanna Sanchez of Avondale; two sisters, Rose Barley or Scottsdale and Jane Cook of Avondale; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. April 19, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, 522 E. Western Ave., Avondale.

Peter Joseph Goodness Jr.
Peter Joseph Goodness Jr., 67, of Tonopah died April 4, 2014, in Goodyear.
Mr. Goodness was born March 3, 1947, in Bangor, Maine, to Peter and Elaine Goodness.
He moved to Arizona in 1998.
He served in the Army from 1966 to 1969.
He retired from Freightliner of Arizona, where he worked in diesel truck parts sales.
He was a member of the Desert Rats Car Club, American Legion and Moose Lodge.
He was preceded in death by one son, Ryan Goodness.
He is survive by his wife, Marlynn Goodness; one daughter, Crystal Paluck of Indio, Calif.; one son, Evan Goodness of Cameron Park, Calif.; two sisters, Julie Salvi of La Habra, Calif., and Janet Edwards of Las Vegas; one brother, Ken Goodness of Golconda, Nev.; and five grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time.
Helen C. Kylian
Helen C. Kylian, 83, of Buckeye died April 5, 2014, in Buckeye.
Mrs. Kylian was born Dec. 27, 1930, in St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony G. Kylian.
She is survived by one daughter, Deborah A. Heustis of Buckeye; three sisters, Bernice Mathews, Dorothy Arbeiter and Loretta O’Hara; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. April 15 at Resurrection Cemetery in St. Louis.

Abrana L. Rodriquez
Abrana L. Rodriquez, 78, of Avondale died April 7, 2014.
Ms. Rodriquez was born in San Elizario, Texas.
She is survived by four daughters, Victoria, Irene, Maria Luz and Maria Elene; one son, Domingo; one sister, Isable; four brothers, Ricardo, Guadalupe, Luis and Martin; 31 grandchildren; and 36 grandchildren.
A visitation with a rosary recital is schedule from 5 to 8 p.m. April 14 at Advantage Crystal Rose Funeral Home, 9155 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. April 15 at St. John Vianney Church, 539 E. La Pasada Blvd., Goodyear.
Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.

Grant Schmeling, 30, died April 2, 2014, from a mitochondrial disorder.
Mr. Schmeling was born Feb. 27, 1984, to Bob and Bev Schmeling.
He is survived by his parents, Bob and Bev Schmeling; and one sister, Inde Miller.
A celebration of life will be held in Iowa.
