Trinity ‘trunk-or-treat’

Trinity school is offering a “trunk-or-treat” from 5 to 8 p.m. at 830 E. Plaza Cricle, Litchfield Park. It will include

Preventing child abuse workshop

The Avondale Neighborhood and Family Services Department, in partnership with the Southwest Advocacy Center, will present “Stewards of Children: Darkness to Light” for a child abuse awareness and prevention workshop. The workshop will prepare participants to become confident and competent in knowing how to prevent sexual abuse or respond to it if it occurs. W.V. Hospital’s ‘Rescue Roundup’

West Valley Hospital will host a free community celebration called “Rescue Roundup” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 25 in the hospital’s east parking lot, 13677 W. McDowell Road, Goodyear. Free food and drinks will be provided. There will be bike helmet fittings and car seat safety checks from 9 a.m. to noon. Public safety mascots such as Smokey the Bear, Sparky the Fire Dog and McGruff the Crime Dog will pose for photos. There will be police motorcycle demonstrations, tours of ladder fire trucks, ambulances, helicopters, a SWAT truck and an American Red Cross Emergency Response Vehicle.

Buckeye’s Halloween carnival

Buckeye’s 74th annual Halloween Carnival will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Earl Edgar Recreational Facility, 500 S. First St. There will be more than 50 old fashioned carnival games, including bingo, a cake walk, corn hole toss, Krazy Kars and lucky duck. There will also be food booths. Snake feeding

White Tank Mountain Regional Park in Waddell will show a snake feeding at 1 p.m. Participants will learn about the habits of some of the creatures of the desert by going to the Nature Center during feeding time. Caution: Live creatures are fed to animals so this could be upsetting to some. To get to the park, take Olive Avenue about four miles west of Loop 303. Entry fee is $6 per vehicle. Pumpkin Patch Splash

The Pumpkin Patch Splash will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Buckeye Aquatic Center, 207 N. Ninth St., Buckeye. Swimmers will be given the opportunity to hunt for the perfect pumpkin floating in the pool. Pumpkins can then be decorated at the decorating station. Tickets are $10 for two people and include the pumpkin. Only 200 tickets will be sold.

PebbleCreek Creative Arts Festival

The PebbleCreek Creative Arts Festival will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PebbleCreek Creative Arts Center, 16280 W. Clubhouse Drive, Goodyear. More than 70 award-winning local artists and out-of-state vendors will be displaying their artwork and hand-crafted items. The City of Tolleson is hosting its annual pet health expo from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Veterans’ Park, 8601 W. Van Buren St., Tolleson.
