Pedestrian dies in west Phoenix collision

A man was killed in a collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle Tuesday evening in west Phoenix, according to a release.

The incident happened at about 6:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of South 83rd Avenue near Lower Buckeye Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers arriving at the scene learned 64-year-old Loreto Rodriguez-Tirado was struck by a vehicle while crossing 83rd Avenue.

Officials pronounced Rodriguez-Tirado deceased at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained and showed no signs of impairment, police said.

Speed does not appear to be a factor and no charges are pending.
