Buckeye police seek armed robbery suspect

Police are looking for a man after two armed robberies Thursday in Buckeye.

The first incident occurred at about 2 a.m. at the Days Inn near Interstate 10 and Miller Road. The second one happened at about 2:30 p.m. at Federico’s Mexican Food near I-10 and Watson Road.

The suspect stole money from each location, police said.

“It is unknown what kind of weapon,” Detective Tamela Skaggs said. “A possible weapon was reported hidden under the subject’s shirt. There were no injuries.”

According to Buckeye police, the suspect was wearing gray shorts with a white stripe on the sides, a dark blue long-sleeve shirt and a red University of Arizona cap. Police describe him as a black man in his early 40s, between 5 feet, 5 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall, and weighing 185 to 200 pounds.

Police consider him armed and dangerous and advise residents to not approach or contact him.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Buckeye Police Department at 623-349-6411 or bpdtips@buckeyeaz.gov.
