Gun prohibition

Editor:

I must thank the writer of “Gun control,” from Litchfield Park, WVV, 21st. July. His letter caused much merriment in the Hammond household and until my wife convinced me otherwise I thought he was really serious. Especially amusing was his magnanimity regarding my having a “pistol” in every room, wow! There was I laboring under the misapprehension that I didn’t require his permission.

President Obama’s schemes never let up, this one actually is not new and has been in play for some time. It is called “Operation Choke Point”.

The cause of prejudice

Editor:

It isn’t a Flag that causes hate and prejudice, it is grandparents, parents and wrong-minded friends. I’ll give you a personal example. My father fought in WWII. He came back hating everything Japanese! He passed this feeling on to my brother and I.

States’ rights (and morality)

Editor:

Some questions for the “Factless Wonder” (Roy Azzarello), and Mr. Brosius (July 3rd).

When Brown v. Board of Education declared that Segregation was unconstitutional, was that undermining States’ Rights?

Early childhood education

Editor:

In regards to the June 16, 2015 guest commentary by Pearl Chang Esau from Expect More Arizona, I wanted to follow up and add another key component for the children in our area. Too often we forget the importance of those key early years.

Institute has pioneers to thank

Editor:

We should all applaud the collaboration of Banner Health and ASU in the formation of the ASU-Banner Neurodegenerative Disease Research Center. With the prognosis of the vast number of individuals predicted to develop Alzheimer’s disease, this expanded program is important.
