Hillary’s folly

Editor:

I was reading the New York Times this morning, just for a change of pace from Arizona’s Daily we are forced to take as a no choice option for some left leaning local and national news.

America’s sovereignty at stake

Editor:

The latest spin of late is that President OBama’s group is opposed to freedom of speech on Facebook. Now I hope that is an untruth and is going too far. Facebook is loved by everyone who has many relatives and a wonderful way to keep in touch. It’s hard to fathom a man who claims he is protecting America, yet stifles America’s free speech (Our first amendment right).

State of the nation

Editor:

The current administration has indicated that the economy is doing well since the president has taken office. Well let’s digest the facts based on number taken from the official debt clock.

Another unbelievable speech

Editor:

I cannot believe the speech President Obama gave on television May 6th. Everything that’s wrong with this country is Congress’s unwillingness to work and fund his every request. “Over decaying infrastructure, roads, bridges are in need of repair.”

Just noticing attacks now?

Editor:

Well, at last Mr. Nelson and I agree on something — somewhat. (August 13th) But I have to ask: Sir, you’re only noticing the assault on the 4th and 5th Amendments now? Where were you over the past four decades, when the Burger, Rehnquist, and Roberts Courts were busy turning the Constitution into Swiss Cheese?

Worried about next governor

Editor:

I believe that it is never too early to start to worry. I am concerned about who Arizona’s next Governor will be, once Jan Brewer leaves office. I know Sheriff Arpaio could win any state wide election any time. He, however, is getting too old to run again. I fear if the Democrats put up a strong candidate or get lucky, or both and elect our next Governor, the culture in Arizona will change. Not for the better !

When will we be unified?

Editor:

This subject remains a topic for many people in our community.  We were very disappointed and shocked.  A young life was taken and initially no one was arrested.  Only after national attention was called to this case, and it was reviewed, did defendant get arrested and a trial held.    The trial was held in Florida, a state that offers the same rule of law as AZ.  “Stand Your Ground”.  And though the defendant didn’t use this as the basis in his case, that law was clearly one of the main principals used as a reason and defense in the Zimmerman verdict.  President Obama commented on this case and it’s verdict.  He is after all, the first African American President and in the position to know full well what life is like for a black man, in America

Kudos to swim coaches

Editor:

My son is in his third year as a member of the Goodyear Sharks swim team.  The Sharks are part of the Goodyear Recreational Swimming Program.  The swim team is one of several organized team activities that are offered by the city of Goodyear throughout the year, to include baseball, basketball, football, soccer, and several other team oriented activities for our children.
